OVERVIEW
Sedra (FILM, 1990)
Sedra is a symbolic film set entirely on Kuwait’s Failaka Island, marking the 10th anniversary of the country's liberation. The story follows a grandfather and his granddaughter on a daylong journey through the island’s ruins,as he shares emotional memories of invasion, resistance, and freedom—offering her a deeper connection to her homeland’s history.
Failaka, once thriving and now scarred by conflict, serves as a powerful backdrop—symbolizing Kuwait’s resilience. As the sun sets, what remains is more than memory; it’s a legacy passed between generations.
Sedra is not just a film—it’s a tribute to national pride, personal storytelling, and the enduring spirit of Kuwait.
